These may vary from time to time to help us meet your needs during periods of Holiday or Absence.

Our telephone is switched over for emergencies only between 1.00pm – 2.00pm

Patients are registered with the Practice and routine consultations are by appointment only. Patients may request a consultation with any GP within the surgery.

We would ask you to remember that each GP requires to cover House Visits, Emergency Surgeries and provide Holiday cover on a rotational basis, which can limit their availability for routine consultations.

If you have not been seen at the surgery for three years (or one year for those over 75) you can request a check up appointment if you wish.

Types of Appointments Available

Telephone Triage

This service is for consultations that may be dealt with by telephone. The service is available throughout the day, the receptionist will take your details and a clinician will return your call. Contact with this service may result in a consultation with a GP or other appropriate Health Care Professional. The outcome may also be a prescription or simple advice.

Routine Appointments

The surgery now uses a system known as Advanced Access in order to tailor appointment supply to demand, especially during busier times in the week. This means that you should now be able to see the GP of your choice at a time that suits you in the vast majority of cases. These are bookable with the GP of your choice up to four weeks in advance (counting week-ends and public holidays) obviously at holiday times the remaining GP’s are required to cover the workload, therefore availability for your chosen GP may be affected. Emergencies will be seen within these appointments.

Our telephone system is fed by four patient lines and callers are put into a queue for services. To maintain your place in the queue continue to hold, otherwise call back at a later time.

On dialing the number you will hear a welcome message offering a selection of services. To choose one of the following services please press the number indicated using a touch tone telephone. Should you not have this type of telephone your call will default to a receptionists who can provide general assistance.
